The summer has come to an end and the clients and staff have had a busy one! There have been many fun recreational adventures including fishing trips, fairs, picnics and swimming. The Sowing Seeds of Freedom garden produced a great crop of goodies including beans, potatoes, squash, and melons, just to name a few. We'll be having a Harvest Party on 10/23 and some of the lucky kids in the area will get to pick their own pumpkin!
The Music Therapy groups have been working on a songwriting project and did a preliminary concert early in the summer. They will be sharing a bit of their accomplishments at this year's Festival of Trees on November 19 at the Bozeman GranTree Inn.
The Way of Life Lessons groups have been working on community service projects. Look for news later this month about the Folf Course being developed. Many of our clients are volunteering in the community in other ways too, including tutoring at the local schools and Heads Start program.
LP also increased their licenses at the Whitehall facilities, so Day Services can now be provided to a limited number of brain injury survivors who live at home but need more help.
The Bootstrap Project, north of Belgrade, MT, is still in the planning mode with a hopeful construction date in late November. That will take about 4 or 5 months to complete.
Finally, we're looking to raise awareness and do a bit of "Fun Raising" through the "Bucket Selfie Challenge", utilizing social media to spread the word. Read about it on our FaceBook Page or check it out at: #BucketSelfie4TBI Funds raised through this project will go toward our capital campaign.
Brain Injuries strike at anytime, and no one is exempt, so be careful out there!
