What is a Brain Injury?
Acquired brain injury is an insult to the brain, not of degenerative or congenial nature. It is caused by an external force such as a blow to the head, stroke, lack of oxygen or tumor.

Every Brain Injury is Different:
Damage may range from mild and temporary to serious and permanant.

Thinking Abilities:
Difficulty remembering,
inability to concentrate
poor judgement

Emotions & Behaviors:
Mood swings,
depression, tears, angry outbursts,
inappropriate behaviors

Phyical Abilities:
Loss of muscle control, paralysis
problems with speech, hearing,
sight and smell
